DIY simple bracelets (using up fabric leftovers) I

Hey there!

I still had some fabric pieces left from my DIY muscle tee and thought there had to be fun ways to use those up. So here are some how to's for really simple bracelets. I'm thinking about making a part II + III which will probably be a little more intricate-looking. Please let me know if you liked it so far and whether you want to do more parts :)

what you need:
  • a piece of fabric
  • scissors
  • glue
  • tape

what you do:

1. the knotted bracelet
  • take scissors and fabric and cut into 2 strips of about 1-2cm width
  • pull at them a little so the sides roll in
  • take both strips at one end and tape them down on the floor or your table or wherever you're doing this
  • start knotting!
  • you might want to check when the bracelet is long enough to go all the way around your wrist
  • when you've knotted long enough, take both ends and tie them into another knot! a double knot this time to secure it :)
  • if you want to secure it really really really well, you can also put a teeny-tiny bit of glue on the last knot

2. the braided bracelet
  • it's basically the same steps as before, just this time, you cut the fabric into 3 strips and then braid them like a normal braid
  • when you're done, tie the ends into a double-knot and voilà!

3. the fishtail bracelet
  • for this bracelet, you're going to need 4 strips of fabric
  • pull at them and tape them down
  • the two strips in the middle are going to stay where they are, we will weave using only the strands on the sides!
  • take the strip on the right side, move it over the one right next to it and under the one next to that, so basically just over and under, then you come out on the left side with it
  • both "side-strips" are now on the left side
  • now take the one on the left side you did not use yet and do the same with this one: over the string right next to it and then under the string next to that
  • the strip that was on the right before now has moved to the left and the strip that was on the left before is now on the right
  • the only really tricky part is remembering which string you just used and proceeding with the other one
  • keep going like that until you went far enough and then secure it as we did before
  • the tighter you do it the better the fishtail shows!
